Foundation Welcomes New Directors!

Foundation directors are selected from within the community and serve a term of 3 years, for a maximum of 6 years.  We welcome the following new directors to the Foundation:

Pat Angerer
Pat Angerer
Pat grew up in Bettendorf, attending Mark Twain Elementary, Bettendorf Middle, and Bettendorf High Schools. He played football for the University of Iowa Hawkeyes and the Indianapolis Colts. He is a Business Development Officer at Sauk Valley Bank. Pat and his wife Mary Beth have two sons.
Rachel Lanning
Rachel Lanning
Rachel grew up in Tacoma Park, Maryland and moved to Bettendorf several years ago. She attended the University of Virginia and Harvard University. She and her husband Jeff have a son and daughter. Rachel is employed at John Deere. She previously served as a director of the Library Foundation from 2009 – 2014.
Tim Perkins
Tim Perkins
Tim grew up in Iowa, moving to the Bettendorf area more than 10 years ago. He attended Dubuque Hempstead High School and graduated from the University of Northern Iowa. He is Executive Vice President – Chief Lending Officer for Ascentra Credit Union. Tim and his wife Sarah have three daughters who all enjoy the Library.
Sharon Tinsman
Sharon Tinsman
Sharon grew up in Illinois, attended Lincoln College and Illinois State University, and has lived in the Bettendorf community for more than 15 years. She and her husband Bruce have two daughters and one son.
Beverly VanSoelen
Beverly VanSoelen
Beverly grew up in Clovis, New Mexico and moved to the Bettendorf area within the past five years. She attended Cottey College, the University of Oklahoma, and Seattle University School of Law. She and her husband Robert have two sons and a daughter.

 

Foundation Awards $37,969 to Library Programs

The Bettendorf Public Library awarded $37,969 to Library programs for FY 16/17, which
include:
• $8,350 National Novel Writing Month (November)
• $4,000 Year-Round Children’s Special Programming
• $4,999 littleBits Electronics Building Blocks
• $1,500 Fish Tank Beautification
• $5,500 2016 Youth Summer Reading Program
• $7,500 Learning Campus Discovery Fair
• $6,120 Summer Concert Series
