and Sponsor Policy
The
Bettendorf Public Library Information Center and its
charitable arm, The Library Fund, seek partners and
sponsors in order to achieve the library's mission and
vision.
Partner:
A partner is an institution, organization or business that
collaborates with the library and library staff to provide
programs and/or services to the public in ways that are mutually
beneficial to and in support of the missions of both the library
and the partner. Typical partners are the Friends of the Bettendorf
Public Library, the local chapter of NAICS, and the Family
Museum. Partners may cover the costs of a library program;
provide incentives for reading programs, etc.
Benefits
for Partners:
· Free meeting room use and set up
· Library promotion of program or service
· Library staff may deliver services to
their site (presentations, book talks etc.)
· Link from our web site to theirs

Conditions
of Partnership
· Programs and services resulting from
the partnership are free to the public.
· Library staff has time and capacity
required.
· Any costs to the library are within
our budget.
· Program and services content meet all
library policies.
· Program and or services are offered
within library hours.
· No staff overtime is expected.
· Library is credited in partner's publicity.
· All library policies apply to partner
and partner's employees.
Approval
of Partnerships
The Board of Trustees authorizes the Library Director
to approve partnerships with provision that the Board
has final authority if the Library Director's decision
is appealed.
Sponsor:
A sponsor is an institution, organization or business
that negotiates with the Library Fund and through Library
Fund Ex. Director with library staff, to financially
contribute to the Fund in support of a library service
or program.

for Sponsors
· Contribution is a charitable donation
and tax deductible.
· Connection of their name to one of the
highest ranked libraries in the nation.
· Visible recognition by name in brochures,
newsletter, annual report etc.
· Tours and orientation to library for
their employees.
· Invitation to Sponsors Night or other
library activity.
· Opportunity for employees to volunteer.
Sponsor
Benefits for the Library
· Financial support for programming, services
and materials.
· Support for and growth of The Library
Fund.
· Opportunity to market our services to
a new audience.
· Possible resource for volunteers and
expertise.
Conditions
of Sponsorship
· Because it is a public service and because
of its mission, exclusivity cannot be given to sponsors.
(Example: more than one health agency may be a library
sponsor, more than one bookstore, more than one bank
etc.)
· All library policies apply to sponsors
and their employees.
Approval
of Sponsorships
· Sponsorships are negotiated between
the Library Fund Executive Director and the potential
sponsor.
