The Library has a collection of large print books, including fiction,
mysteries, westerns, biographies, and nonfiction. Books on tape, both
literature and informational, are also available. We have a growing
collection of books on CD.
The Library is an agency for the Iowa Commission for the Blind and has
applications for this program on file. If you have limited vision or a
physical disability you may qualify to receive a tape player and Talking
Books. E-mail the Outreach
Coordinator or call 344-4187 if you are interested in this service.
Bettendorf residents may borrow aids and equipment from the Library to
enable them to enjoy reading. These include book holders, page turners and
magnifiers, bed specs and large print playing cards.
Visitors to the Library who have low vision can take advantage of our
video magnification system. It can be used to read any printed material.
The Library has a Quad-LINC library catalog with an Opti-View option which
can enlarge the screen for use by visually impaired patrons.
