Meet John Gillette / Video Game Night
Saturday, February 9th, 2008 1:00 - 4:00 PM
Middle and high
school students are invited to come to the Library to meet John
Gillette, our new young adult librarian. We'll have some snacks, play
some video games (DDR, Guitar Hero 3, WiiSports), and hang out. No
registration necessary. Bring a freind!

You Tube Video Contest
Please have the videos uploaded to the YouTube group by March 8th.
Create a 3-5 minute
video on the theme of Why I Love My Library –or– create an alternate
ending or scene of your favorite book. Use your cell phone, your
camera, or video camera. Be creative- use your family, friends,
pets, or yourself to star in the video. Work alone or with a team
of up to 5 people. Be spontaneous or be scripted. Just keep
it fun and appropriate for library viewers. Then put on your red
carpet clothes and come to the Premiere Party at the Putnam Museum and
IMAX Theatre in Davenport!

Role Playing Group
Saturdays, 1:00 - 4:00
Join a game already in progress,
or bring your own group to join us. We're looking for good adventures and great
times. Currently Playing D20 System Role Playing Games (such as Dungeons and Dragons
v.3.5). For more information, call 344-4188 or stop by the youth services desk.

We're scheduled to watch episodes 1 and 2 of Negima, rate TVPG.
