Programs
Got time on your hands? Why not hang out at the library! You can read manga and comics in our teen lounge. Check out our new YA novels. Perhaps play some video games at our special video game events (check out the main page and calendar for more info on that
) Or you can join us for
Thursday Thumps!
Every Thursday 3:30 to 5
First Thursday: Anime Club
We watch anime, share mangas, make suggestions for the collection, and discuss all things related to Anime & manga. Check out the main page for information on what Anime we are watching this month!
Second Thursday: Stitch n’ Kitsch
Do you like to sew? Knit? Crochet? Make books? Perhaps sock monkeys are your secret passion? Have you ever made coasters that resemble Mario or Princess Peach? Well, do we have a program for you! Each month we will have a mentor showcasing a new craft. But feel free to bring your own project to work on. Anyone 10 and up are welcome to get their craft on!
Third Thursday: Nerdposium
It’s a convivial meeting, usually while consuming snacks and soda, for intellectual conversation pertaining to all subjects nerd. Such as why does Superman’s outfit hardly tear, or is sullied, when it itself has no such invulnerability that Superman has? Or how do Han Solo and his crew breathe in outer space during the space worm scene in Star Wars: ESB? Or perhaps which would win in a firefight, an Imperial Star Destroyer or a Borg space ship? These are the questions that try a nerd’s soul… Answer them if you dare.
And if you act now we’ll even throw in a Saturday Thump too!
Role Playing Club
Every Saturday 1:00 - 5:00
Young adults of all ages gather every week to play D20 system role playing games, such as Dungeons and Dragons. Participants are invited to join a game already in progress, or bring your own group to play with. Experience preferred but not required. Anyone 12 and over welcomed!
