A day filled with free learning and fun.
We have many fun and exciting experiences and activities planned for Discovery Fair this year. You will be able to attend a short class on how to be a clown, learn a few magic tricks, make some rock candy, and create a watercolor painting. You will be able to experience an authentic Tepee and Native American Dance, make bubbles at our bubble stations, frolic in foam from our foam blasters, visit the hands-on science exploration stations, launch stomp rockets, learn about robotics from the RoboMinions, get your face painted, have a balloon creation made, have a caricature made of yourself, visit the butterfly encounter tents, and raise your hair with a Van de Graaf generator! Also, the ‘Little Hands Site’ will be available for children ages 5 and under with activities planned just for them.
Many thanks to our Title Sponsors Iowa American Water, HNI, Lane & Waterman LLP, DuTrac Community Credit Union, and Morgan Stanley, our Library Champion Sponsor Pumped, and our Community Partner Sponsors Russell and Steve’s Mirror & Glass for today’s event. Also to our instructors and volunteers for their time and talents, to the Family Museum for their support and collaborative efforts, to the Library Foundation for funding and supporting our efforts, to the Library and Museum Staff for the extra effort that comes with a special event of this size and for supporting and promoting the idea of The Discovery Fair. And a HUGE thank you goes to Rick Brammer for his time and effort in organizing the event.
