Welcome to the Creation Studio, a vibrant hub designed to fuel your passion, curiosity, and creativity. As the Bettendorf Public Library’s makerspace, the Creation Studio offers community access to new and emerging technologies that inspire interest in creativity, design, and STEAM activities.

The Creation Studio makes it possible to learn new skills at little or no expense, without the challenge of maintaining costly equipment and tools. It’s a space for collaboration and creative idea sharing. During Open Work Hours, makers of all skill levels are encouraged to bring their projects and supplies to leverage our advanced technology and supportive staff, turning ideas into reality. Use of the makerspace and all tools is free.

The Creation Studio opened in October 2022, and we’ve continued to add new tools. Open Work Hours, workshops, and events have helped community members build their skills, access new technologies, and connect with others who share similar interests.

In the Creation Studio, we believe everyone has the potential to be a maker. Join us and become part of a community that values innovation, learning, and collaboration.

What is a Makerspace?

Wooden spoons with names engraved upon them.

A makerspace is a community workshop in which makers can work on personal projects while sharing equipment, ideas, and knowledge with others. The Creation Studio, Bettendorf’s local makerspace, fosters creativity and supports STEAM education by offering open work time and structured workshops and classes for all ages.

Our extensive makerspace equipment list can be overwhelming, so take advantage of our individual or small-group Skill Building sessions! These appointments offer one-on-one learning with experienced library staff. Once you learn the basics of using our equipment, you’ll discover that the possibilities are endless.

From young learners to seniors, the Creation Studio gives our community the opportunity to learn in a low-stakes, comfortable, collaborative setting.
