Bettendorf Library Food Pantry Donations

In January 2023, the Bettendorf Public Library began accepting donations of non-perishable food and personal care items year-round. Individuals in need are welcome to take donations from the shelves, and all surplus goes to the Bettendorf Food Pantry on a quarterly basis. Items can be taken directly to the Neccessity Nook shelves or left with staff at the Information Desk during library hours.


Current Wish List:

  • soup crackers (ex., Saltines)
  • flour
  • sugar
  • oil
  • cereal
  • laundry detergent
  • shampoo and conditioner
  • instant foods (instant mashed potatoes, ready-to-serve rice, etc.)

Total delivered to the food pantry in 2025: 473*
Total delivered to the food pantry in 2024: 849
Total delivered to the food pantry in 2023: 1,095

*Despite a steady stream of donations year-round, our last surplus drop-off at the food pantry was in March 2025, demonstrating the need in our community for this Library service.
