Join us for a special Community Connections with Quad Cities Pride in Memory. Quad Cities Pride in Memory started as a project to capture oral histories from local LGBTQ+ seniors, telling their own stories in their own words. The sweep of this history from around 1960 to the present was so compelling that they decided to create moveable panels which display this history and that helps explain the major events during those years.
Quad Cities Pride in Memory's presentation will discuss the project and the moveable exhibit that they've created. The presentation will help the audience to understand local events and personal experiences documented in the exhibit and their context within national events.
The exhibit panels are on display at the library from April 6th - May 6th.
The Mission of Quad Cities Pride in Memory is to document and preserve the local LGBTQ+ history of the Quad Cities area and to provide educational opportunities for the public.
Registration is not required. Community Connections is sponsored by The Friends of the Bettendorf Public Library.
